Someday I'll Figure Out What This is About

I don’t really know where this blog is going, but I have to start somewhere, so this is it.

This is my actually my second blog¹; the first one got me through my university years and was basically a journal/announcement board, filled with random bits of my day, rants about whatever, or announcements/questions to the friends that I knew were reading it. Far less often I’d try writing a full-blown post about something I was interested in, but I often worked with the mindset that if I couldn’t finish a post in one sitting it wasn’t worth doing. As a result, most posts were a short paragraph or two, or never finished.

So… this is my attempt at a “serious” blog, where by “serious” I mean “mostly posts containing actual content”, and by “actual content” I mean “things I’ve put some thought into and maybe even proof-read”². I’m only going to say “mostly” because I’m sure random links to other things I found funny will creep in.

I’m also looking at this as a way to just practice my writing. I think I write pretty clearly, but I could write more concisely. Writing posts that I then go back and rework should be good “self-editing” practice.

This is also the first part of what I hope will be the latest incarnation of my personal website. The previous one has gotten a little dated and clearly only goes up to 10.

Anyway, I’ll see how this goes.

¹I really hate that word, but I guess I’m going to have to get used to it.

²Hopefully it won’t be too “serious” where by “serious” I mean “really boring”.
