A Veritable Deluge
I’ve got games coming out of my ears, and the game companies refuse to stop producing more. I was hoping there would maybe be some sort of post-Christmas lull, but I suppose now everyone is shipping the games they meant to get out for the holiday rush.
I’m playing a lot of Final Fantasy XII these days, primarily because the 360 is otherwise occupied with Cressa and her Pinatas. It really is as good as everyone says it is (FFXII I mean, although Viva Pinata is really good too). Battles are so much less tedious than previous incarnations that I actually enjoy just running around and levelling up.
Neverwinter Nights 2 is pretty much the only thing I’ve got going on the PC these days, but it’s been largely neglected in favour of the consoles. I’ve also got Final Fantasy III and Golden Sun to work at, and Wednesday nights are now Rainbow Six: Vegas nights. I wouldn’t quite say that our sqaud qualifies as an “elite anti-terrorist unit”, but don’t ever let it be said that we are not “anti-terrorist”.
Add to all of that the pull of the Burning Crusade and the recent release of Rogue Galaxy, and I’m in trouble. The latter is done by Level 5 who are the same guys responsible for Dragon Quest VIII and, more importantly to me, Dark Cloud 2, one of my favourite games ever for the PS2. One review even describes Rogue Galaxy as a “mixture of ‘Final Fantasy XII’ and ‘Dark Cloud 2′” which sounds like almost too much awesome for one man (and his aging PS2) to handle.
