Summer’s Here…
… for now. I’m hoping it at least lasts through tomorrow. I think we may be back to freezing temperatures later this week.
I took advantage of the good weather today and put the fancy wheels/summer tires back on the car (with much-appreciated help from Cressa). I discovered one tire’s got a screw stuck in it that I’ll need to get taken out, but, if it’s actually punctured the tire, it’s doing a good job of holding the air in so I don’t think it’s an immediate concern. It was reliable enough at least to drop Cressa off to do some summer clothes shopping while Greg and I made up for two weeks of missed comic runs.
Tomorrow, the first game of golf for the year is booked at Crosswinds (I’ve never been there). I expect it’ll be a pretty rough 18 holes as I relearn everything I’ve forgotten since last summer.
Apparently this is my first post in 10 days, and I’m blaming it entirely on The Burning Crusade, God of War II, Guitar Hero 2 and “The Terror” by Dan Simmons. The first one is a giant time sink, the second and third fill in most of my remaining free time and the third takes up at least a half hour each night when I should have already gone to sleep. In a previous blogging life I wrote a lengthy post praising Dan Simmons and I might write one again: “The Terror” is a big departure from the futuristic sci-fi of The Hyperion Cantos and Ilium/Olympus, but still highly recommended.
