1 Billion in the Bag

President’s Choice has had some commercials on TV advertising their reusable grocery bags that are now in stores that carry the brand.  They’re only 99 cents each, so on our last trip to Zehrs, we bought 5 because hey, 99 cents!
On the downside, we don’t have a supply of free, small garbage bags ideal for scooping kitty litter into.  On the upside, I’m not immediately throwing out 75% of the bags we get that have ripped and would end up spilling malodorous chunks onto the carpet.

We had our first real experience with them tonight and even if you hate Mother Nature and would love nothing more than to see mountains of old grocery bags piled everywhere (who wouldn’t?) the bags are still really good.  The cashier crammed into our five bags what would have taken at least twice as many regular ones, and the trip from the car to the apartment (which is long enough that we try to only make one trip, regardless of how many tonnes of food we’ve purchased) was so much easier without plastic digging into our hands, or having to worry about bags breaking and spilling our broccoli everywhere.

So yeah, two thumbs up on the reusable grocery bags.
