If you’re not an aficionado of fake plastic instruments, you could probably be forgiven for not knowing that there are no less than five different plastic drum sets on the market right now: the original Rock Band drums (of which we actually have three sets, two of which were free [but equally problematic] replacements from [ READ MORE ]
So apparently it’s 2008. I don’t think I’ll make any resolutions about posting more or being more entertaining or anything like that, but hey, as of this posting my average for this year has shot up to a post every day! After much confusion and many delays (enough that even the CBC reported on it… [ READ MORE ]
The best version of Guitar Hero is definitely the one where they combined the track list from the original Guitar Hero with the multiplayer and improved controls of Guitar Hero 2. Unfortunately, that version never actually existed and I’m left with the versions that were made and their individual faults (and of course, individual Awesomeness). [ READ MORE ]
Since there’s nothing else exciting going on right now (house in three days!), I figured I’d fill some space by mentioning that the full list of licensed songs for Rock Band has been released. Most of the tracks had already been announced, but the presence of The New Pornographers was a pleasant surprise[ READ MORE ]

Greg sent me this link yesterday showing the 360′s Guitar Hero controller working on Windows XP. Sure enough, I tried it out tonight and it was detected right away. My next step was downloading Frets on Fire and reconfiguring the key mappings to use the controller, and now I’ve got Guitar Hero on the PC. [ READ MORE ]
As hoped for, nine tracks from the original Guitar Hero were updated and released today for the 360 version of Guitar Hero II. There are three packs of three songs each: “Bark at the Moon” – Ozzy Osbourne “Hey You” – The Exies “Ace Of Spades” – Motörhead “Killer Queen” – Queen “Take It Off” [ READ MORE ]
Since the arrival of Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 last night, my band, “AwesomeTown,” is back on tour. Unfortunately we’re down a bass player since I’ve only got the one controller, but I expect to do some “recruiting” shortly. The 360 game basically boils down to a better version of the PS2 version: improved [ READ MORE ]
