Our photographer put up some “preview” pictures from our wedding on his blog, and they look amazing. If anyone out there in the KW area is getting married and needs a photographer, I whole-heartedly recommend Alex. Everything we’ve gotten from him has looked fantastic and he’s a really nice guy to work with. I’m still [ READ MORE ]
After over a year of planning (mostly by Cressa) and several weeks of freaking out (also mostly by Cressa), as of about 4:45 yesterday Cressa and I are officially married! We had a beautiful day (if slightly warm for those of us wearing three layers of tuxedo-y goodness) and everything went smoothly. The reception was [ READ MORE ]
Last night was our Stag & Doe and, while Cressa and I weren’t up to full speed today as a result, it was a fantastic night. Many thanks go out to everyone who came, but specifically to Laura & Mike and Jen & Dan who helped at the door running events, and especially to Greg [ READ MORE ]
Cressa and I have been regular shopaholics this weekend. I got some new golf shoes yesterday and Cressa bought not one but two pairs of Crocs (which encouraged me to get a pair as well), but our big purchase came today: with the wedding and honeymoon (St. Lucia!) coming up, we decided it was time [ READ MORE ]
… for now. I’m hoping it at least lasts through tomorrow. I think we may be back to freezing temperatures later this week. I took advantage of the good weather today and put the fancy wheels/summer tires back on the car (with much-appreciated help from Cressa). I discovered one tire’s got a screw stuck in [ READ MORE ]
The lead article in The Star today suggests a debate is coming over whether Ontario should outlaw smoking in some apartment buildings. If Cressa and I are able to get onto the house-buying track as soon as we want to any resulting legislation would probably be moot, but given our current situation it’s a topic [ READ MORE ]
This week didn’t get off to a great start. My cell phone ended up going through the wash last night and didn’t fare too well. Today I got a whole pile of work done and then promptly lost it during a protracted dispute with Vault. In fairness, Vault didn’t lose my data; it just made [ READ MORE ]
Yesterday was my last day at D2L. I went out after work to The Still – an establishment I would recommend only for it’s beer and wings, and the fact that it’s pretty much the only place to go in downtown Kitchener – and it was nice to see how many people stopped by for [ READ MORE ]
My grandfather, Samuel Henry “Harry” Price passed away on the 4th, which is why Cressa and I were in Owen Sound this week. He was 98 (almost 99!) and had been in declining health for a while so it wasn’t a surprise, but obviously sad nonetheless. He’d had his ups and downs over the past [ READ MORE ]
The last two weeks have been a brutal combination of anxiety and lies (or at least “willful omissions”), but everything is “official” now and I can finally announce: I have a new job. Starting shortly, I will be working for Covarity as a software developer. They’re a relatively small company (about 20 people) that provide [ READ MORE ]
